Portable Radiation Detection System
Radiation Monitor System is a device used to detect and monitor radiation levels and is widely used in all types of safety inspections and environmental monitoring scenarios. According to the different ways of use, Radiation Monitor System is divided into two types, Tunnel Type Radiation Detection System and Handheld Detector System.
Working Principle
The working principle of Portable Radiation Detection System is based on Geiger-Miller (GM) counting tube technology. It utilizes the sensitivity of the GM counting tube to radioactive rays (e.g., alpha, beta, and gamma rays) in the environment. When the rays interact with the material inside the counting tube, an ionization effect occurs, which in turn triggers current pulses. These pulses are captured and counted by the internal circuitry of the instrument, and eventually converted into specific values of radiation intensity displayed on the screen. Compact and portable, the device is capable of accurately measuring the radiation levels of a wide range of nuclides, and is widely used in environmental monitoring, nuclear facility management, medical and scientific research. It provides accurate and timely radiation data for relevant personnel, ensuring personnel safety and environmental protection.
Application Scenarios
Airport and Border Inspection: Used for radiation detection of incoming and outgoing personnel and goods to ensure that there is no radioactive threat.
Nuclear power plants and related industries: monitoring radiation levels inside and around nuclear facilities to ensure staff and environmental safety.
Medical institutions: To help nuclear medicine and radiology departments manage radiation doses and ensure operational safety.
Environmental Protection: For radiation monitoring in the natural environment, especially in areas where nuclear power plants or radioactive materials are used.
Emergency response: for rapid detection and control of radiation contamination during emergencies such as nuclear accidents and terrorist attacks.
